  • Paw-fect Valentine’s Plans

    Only rookies will celebrate Valentine’s Day on a Saturday night – instead, consider something fun… and for a great cause – that’s happening on Thursday night: Bark & Wine with Your Valentine 2015

    Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a beer & wine tasting while surrounded by the cutest faces in town! (Bringing a date is completely optional.)
    Fine wines, beer, tasty treats and wet puppy kisses await guests at the 10th annual Bark & Wine with Your Valentine. 
    This unique, intimate event will be held at the SPCA Curtis Dail Pet Adoption Center in Raleigh on Thursday, February 12 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Sample 6-8 varieties of wine and and light fare to compliment the flavors for just $30.00 per person of which $5.00 is tax deductible.

  • Happy Birthday to the SPCA of Wake County!

    If you’ve been thinking about adopting a critter, this would be the weekend to do it!

    As I’ve written here before, I am a fan of the SPCA of Wake County (as well as the county adoption center and the many local organizations that pull from shelters regularly until an animal can be placed in a forever home). Our Delta dog came from the SPCA many years ago 🙂

    The SPCA Birthday Adopt-a-thon will run Saturday, June 12th from 11:00am-6:00pm, and Sunday, June 13th from 1:00pm-5:00pm.

  • Another Small Request

    Tank and Delta would love your help again… this time in supporting Delta’s first home before she found her way to us (and a place that I’ve blogged about many times before): The SPCA of Wake County.

    You may remember that Independent Animal Rescue of Durham won last year… I wholeheartedly believe this happened in part from the support that so many of you offered with your votes and from sharing the same message within your networks.

  • Great News on the Country Music Front

    For those of you who are listening to XM Radio (specifically: Highway 16), you may already know this as I heard it just this morning. (And during Jason‘s weekend visit to the Opry, which aired on Nashville 11, he also mentioned that this was coming!)

    Jason’s releasing “Where I’m From” at the end of this month and his new cd is coming out in March!

    AND WQDR is once again having the Halloween Harvest Ball to benefit the SPCA (confirmed with QDR lead-chick, Lisa McKay) and other local friends of our furry friends.

    Sunday, September 21

    On September 21, 2008, from 4-8pm…The Shops at Seaboard Station, a Gregory & Parker, Inc. Development, will host Down by the Tracks, VII, a fundraiser to benefit the SPCA of Wake County.

    This popular event has become a significant tool for raising money and awareness for the many homeless animals at the SPCA. Last year over 1000 people and 350 dogs attended DBTT VI and helped us raise over $15,000 for the SPCA.

    The outdoor block party is held at Seaboard Station in downtown Raleigh.

    This year’s event will feature live music by Peace Street Band!

    There will be a silent auction, free beer, food vendors, dance lessons, best dressed dog contest, caricaturist and much more. Kids and dogs (leashed) are welcome.

    In order to raise more money for the SPCA, there will be a general admission charge of $5.00, children 12 and under free.

    Info about last year’s even was one of my first posts as a blogger, and just so you know: Katie, Nick, Delta, Tank and I had a BLAST and will be making another appearance this year (sans Katie… heartbreaking!).
