    The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Time Warner is in talks to invest in Hulu and has told Hulu’s owners that it wants to curtail current-season TV episodes, which Hulu now makes available as early as the next day. – via NewsObserver.com: “TV producers may start making you wait for new shows online”

    I wish I could tell execs at TWC to get out of their own way. This proves that there is such a disconnect with their current offerings and the services and prices that the modern entertainment consumer is wanting and willing to pay for. Delaying putting your content online is not going to drive consumers back to their pre-cord-cutting ways. It’ll only drive up demand and consumption of illegal distribution or the product or diminish the demand for it altogether – which will in turn just drive the viewership to other content. Hello, Netflix Original programming!

  • Currrolina Saturday Night

    The words are actually “Carolina Saturday night”, but Sunny Ledfurd sings it with a drawl. Sunny has been a fixture in the NC bar rocker scene for quite sometime (especially in Charlotte, but also in Raleigh at City Limits Saloon) and I am SO glad to hear him on XM Radio’s “Nashville” station now!

  • Did You Get JMC’s New Album Yesterday?

    I did! And I got five at Best Buy (for everyone in the family who hasn’t hopped on the iPod bandwagon).

    The girl at the store looked at me a little funny and then said “I’ve heard some of his stuff… I like him!”

    That’s what I thought. 😉

    I had the chance to hear the whole album last week on iLike before it officially was in stores – and I liked it then – but listening to it in the car with the windows down, sunroof open, on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon… 100 times better! I’ve been rockin’ ever since.

    And since I’m convinced you all will love it too, I’m giving two of you a chance to do it for free!

  • Making Tuesdays a Little Better

    I am known for saving my weekend shopping for Tuesday… especially when it comes to Best Buy and iTunes. Here’s why: New Music (or Movie) Tuesdays! New music and movies are released on Tuesdays (except in-theater movies, we know that’s reserved for Fridays and holidays).

    Don’t even bother looking for lists elsewhere, Billboard has the most comprehensive cross-genre lists available (by week). If you’re looking for country in particular, RoughStock has a much easier to navigate list of those releases.

    I’ve had February 3rd on my list of dates to be excited about for a long time now and I can’t wait to listen to both albums. And yes, my picks are wildly different… but that’s how I roll.

    March 24th (Jason‘s Where I’m From album) and March 31st (Keith Urban and Rodney Atkins) are going to be great dates as well!

  • 27 Dresses Now on DVD!

    Luckily, every bride that I’ve had the honor of being a part of her wedding day has FABULOUS taste and I’ve never been subjected me to some of the horrors featured in 27 Dresses. And I love each and every one of my girls for it!

    I’m guessing that 99% of my readers have had their fair share of time served as a bridesmaid.

    I’d even venture another guess that a good portion of those readers are probably booked through the next few years (I’ve got quite a few dresses on order now for my girls’ upcoming shindigs). If that’s the case, I highly suggest all of you see this movie with your teammates if you haven’t already.

    Part of the E. Riley-Dorn bridesmaids’ team took a Sunday to go see this together and now I can’t listen to “Benny & the Jets” without thinking fondly of my sisters and fellow bridesmaids.

    (So how’d I know that 27 Dresses is on DVD now? When I was heading over to photobucket to post the S&tC photo in my previous post… 27 Dresses had taken over pb and it’s adorable! It reminded me how much I loved the advertising for that movie, too!)
