  • Add This to Your Christmas List

I was debating whether or not to blog about this, but it’s gotten a TON of attention on my facebook… so apparently the people approve!

My question to my twitter/facebook friends was this, “Do you think my Tarheel boyfriend would kill me if my car played the NC State fight song when I unlock the doors?”

The press release I read about the Motor Mouth includes the following:

“Looking for the perfect gift that someone will enjoy long after the holiday season is over? Look no further than Motor Mouth, the product that can turn anyone’s car or truck into a personal broadcast system. The product, which gives individual vehicles a unique ringtone so owners can tell the world what they are passionate about, is available in several sound series including hunter and sportsman, specific colleges, auto racing, barnyard, holiday and several others.”

“Sounds available include: Sportsman Series: wild turkey (NWTF Licensed), duck commander, wild boar, goose, deer, duck and elk. Sports fans can enjoy the “Start Your Engines” race series or baseball, while the lifestyle series offers holiday sounds, barnyard animal sounds, horse sounds and hound dog sounds. The company also has exclusive rights with NC State University, East Carolina University, West Virginia University and University of Tennessee to market the sounds unique to those schools, including the school’s fight songs.”

After several “likes”‘ and amusing comments on facebook, it appears that boys AND girls are a fan of this. I imagine people would have a fit over it in the parking lot at the NCSU vs. UNC game this weekend.

I personally don’t need to attract any more wildlife than necessary (the deer are everywhere this year, drive safe!), but I do like the selection they have and think my car should play the NC State Fight Song… or maybe something NASCAR (I prefer “Boogity, Boogity, Boogity” over “Start your engines”, but I guess DW has that trademarked!).

If you are so inclined, you can check out their website.

{PS} This blog post was not endorsed or sponsored by Motor Mouth, nor am I employed by them – I just thought it was kinda cool. Lucky for them, huh?

  • I Hate the Cold

Never fails, when the fair makes it to town… it’ll get cold! (Usually, it’s warm in the the day and cold at night – meaning you have to drag a coat around all day to avoid evening freezing, but it’s downright cold in the day already. BOO!)

Just FYI, I heart the NC State Fair. Nick and I will be going at least twice. NEB, Grubey, Mom, Mandy, and I started off the 2009 State Fair last Thursday with Jason Michael Carroll. He had a great opening act – Patrick Davis (@pdmusic).

Friday NEB, Adrianne, and Adrianne’s YM (reference: Yankee Manfriend), and I left for Charlotte. We stayed with Bri and Drew (can’t wait for them to move to Raleigh!) and Cole and Lindsey met us on Saturday afternoon.

The race would’ve been great, if I wasn’t FUH-REEEEZING. Seriously, I had LOTS o’ layers on and was too cold to drink more than 1 Beergarita. Lame.

Here’s hoping for warmer weather for Eric Church’s show!

  • It’s Always the Little Ones

I never participate in the tags and awards that social bloggers do (I really do appreciate you all for including me, but I try and keep this blog content-based so that each post is about more than just me), but when I saw this on Green Magsterpie’s blog today… I just couldn’t resist. Maybe it’s my ridiculous love of pictures.

I also wanted to illustrate something very important: I’m a little girl (5′ 2”)… so I can get away with a lot of things that some people never notice.

Case in point: my fourth picture album, the fourth picture in it:

    Location
    : Bristol, TN/VA
Event: NAAAAAASCAR race with the boyfriend, Cole, Lindsey, and Cameron
Image: Me getting away with not having to carry my gravy biscuit.
I think people underestimate me sometimes. Need proof? I also took this picture of my tactic… unnoticed.

  • Good News, Good Vibes, and Good Tunes Today

I feel awful today – I’m running on next to nothing but I am counting down the days (and minutes) ’til Wolfpack Football and after Labor Day… which is when the BF and I can finally get away on that vacay we’re both long overdue on!

Luckily, my daily blog reads & XM Radio are helping me through the day:

–Why Carl Edwards is the man
–I can’t wait to give TWC the boot
–I don’t need a single thing… but some of my favorite causes definitely need your support. (Especially those that help our four-legged pals.)
–My partner in crime… for so many reasons.
—The light at the end of the (Murphy Center) tunnel.
AND XM is playing a lot of Luke, Eric, and my hometown boy – JMC – today!

Oh, and I saw Kenny with a few of the favorites this weekend, too. Maybe THAT’S why I’m a little tired today!

  • More NASCAR Love…

I’m sure my fashion blog readers were shocked when I did a post dedicated to Under Armour & NASCAR… but I mean c’mon… NASCAR’s awesome.

The commercials are hilarious, the sport is downright exciting to sit in the stands (or your living room with surround sound) in the midst of, and it’s the last great American sport to still let you bring your own “beverages of choice” and snacks in the “park” with you!

I noticed an email that came for Nick yesterday (pre-forwarding his RR account to the hotmail one he actually uses) from GoMotorBids.com. Obviously, the following caught my eye:

I told him that Ryan Newman and his wife look like our kind of people… (to which the Kahne-iac scoffed at), but then I said: “just look at those causes and that puppy’s face – he looks like a Tanker”. There’s no avoiding it, they do seem to be our kind of people!

(Note: All dogs are “puppies” to me and “Tanker” is in reference to our big boy, pictured here.)

Some of programs supported through The Ryan Newman Foundation include:

And finally, what’s a NASCAR email without thinking of my daddy:

If I had money coming out of my ears, Daddy would be the proud owner of that fire suit. Watch the story about it… the poster in reference, actually sits framed in Dad’s office.

    How cool would THAT be?

Nick says that auction will go for the likes of $20K+ and I’m pretty sure Dad would wring my neck if I paid that much for a fire suit… but boy can a girl dream of the BEST GIFT EVER FOR DEAR OL’ DAD!
