I am also a potato chip connoisseur. Not just any potato chips will do. I’m a big fan of the really crunchy ones – generally known as kettle-cooked chips.
I picked up lunch from Durham’s Parker & Otis the other day and found something that was made JUST FOR ME (or at least it seems).

Today – E. Riley Dorn (pictured below, on the right) is at the hospital about to welcome little “G Baby” into the world. Pretty wild stuff. I am not nearly as spazzed out about it as the rest of our little mafia, as I’ve had several friends to take on this responsibility since senior year of high school (shout out to Steph, Amanda)! The rest of the girls in our college gang? Well they’re another story. (And really entertaining to observe their reactions right now.)

Tonight – Nick and I are volunteering with Priscilla and her hubby Chase, and lots of other volunteers from the Raleigh Regional Association of Realtors Community Service Committee (you know I also have a real estate license, right?) at Miracle League. Pretty pumped to be volunteering to help some fantastic kids play baseball!
Tomorrow– NC State Spring Football Game, possibly a visit to CueGrass, and definitely attending Redress Raleigh.
Sunday– Bridal show w/ Brezey*B, Am*Bam, etc.
NEXT Weekend
TBMF with Katie Pi Phi, Mr. Katie Pi Phi (who will have a snazzy nickname after next weekend, surely), F’in Jess, Grubey and her brother, NEB, Nate, Big Cam, Renee, and the whole rest of the drinkin’ team. Best day of the year!

And that will consume the entire weekend – no lie.

I was Faith Hill (Nick was Tim McGraw) and I’m pretty sure Adrianne was Lisa Turtle (now, which DU guy had the pleasure of being Screech?).
Never fails, when the fair makes it to town… it’ll get cold! (Usually, it’s warm in the the day and cold at night – meaning you have to drag a coat around all day to avoid evening freezing, but it’s downright cold in the day already. BOO!)
Just FYI, I heart the NC State Fair. Nick and I will be going at least twice. NEB, Grubey, Mom, Mandy, and I started off the 2009 State Fair last Thursday with Jason Michael Carroll. He had a great opening act – Patrick Davis (@pdmusic).
Friday NEB, Adrianne, and Adrianne’s YM (reference: Yankee Manfriend), and I left for Charlotte. We stayed with Bri and Drew (can’t wait for them to move to Raleigh!) and Cole and Lindsey met us on Saturday afternoon.
The race would’ve been great, if I wasn’t FUH-REEEEZING. Seriously, I had LOTS o’ layers on and was too cold to drink more than 1 Beergarita. Lame.

Second Annual Angel Gala

2009 Free to Breathe
The 2009 annual Free To Breathe event wil be held in Raleigh on Saturday, November 7, 2009, on NCSU’s Centennial Campus. We would love to have you come out and support the event. Better yet, lace up those sneakers and join Brittany’s Battle! Whether you run the 5K or walk the 1K, come out and celebrate the survivors and honor those who’ve battled and lost.

We were very pleased to be able to present the Patient and Family Resource Center with another donation from Brittany’s Battle – thanks to all of you! We were very moved when we were told that our last donation is being used to have wigs made for teenage cancer patients. As you can imagine, their choice for wigs is often limited.

A hidden gem in the nightlife scene. Literally – hidden. Luckily, the Director of VIP Services found us wandering Mandalay and offered us a round of champagne. I wish we had started the night at this place!
Stack
Located at Mirage
A very cool steak house with lots of delicious choices for people like me who don’t want steak all the time. Also had some affordable $30 three-course options, etc. which is important in a town where you could easily spend $100 on dinner for one.
Mix
Located at Mandalay Bay… on the 64th floor.
One of the best views in town – period. And not painfully over-crowded like super-trendy Pure and Tao bars/clubs.
Playboy Club / Moon
Located at Palms
Fun bars, personable bartenders. I was shocked how many people in the service industry who were working for tips just sucked in this town. Not at the Playboy club, though! The Bunnies are dealers, but the male bartenders were cool, too! Moon would have been awesome had the retractable roof been open.
Minus 5 (-5) Lounge
Located at Mandalay Bay
There are a few located around the world. I didn’t get to go there, but walked past it enough to want to. The front is very lodge bar looking and the other part is surrounded by ice. I hate the cold, so the free drink passes that were being passed out by the promoter and PENGUIN that Lisa S. and I walked by would have to hook up a lot of anti-freeze (drinks) for me to stay long.
Hard Rock Hotel
Very cool music industry displays… everywhere. Kenny Chesney will be having a concert in their in-house concert hall (The Joint) at the end of April – I bet it will be awesome.
Christian Audigier
Located at TI (Treasure Island)
Fashionable rock n’ roll-themed bar . This was in our hotel and we didn’t get a chance to go, but based on seeing it in passing and it’s branding/image… I will for sure next time. I’ll also be dropping my business card for Buckhead because they apparently have an awesome service industry night.
PS – We HAD to go to Coyote Ugly because as all 80’s babies, we love the movie. Everyone who told me it sucked… was right. It was one of those “Cool, I’ve been there. Once was enough.”
PS #2 – I can’t believe I forgot the crowd favorite. O’Sheas. Count on my friends to find the beer pong in Vegas!
